Micro suction ear wax removal is a proven safe and comfortable process for ear cleaning. It does not involve the use of liquids so there is no mess and no fuss. Usually micro suction does not need pre-treatment with drops but two days of Earol (clinically treated olive oil) is the best preparation. An audiologist will examine your ear using a binaural microsope (either fixed or with loupes glasses) and, using a fine low pressure suction device, safely remove the blockage. Also, using a video otoscope we will show you the condition of the ear before and after the treatment.

Irrigation Ear Wax Removal
ProPulse Irrigation is a safe, gentle and very effective instant way of removing Earwax.
Dowling Hearing Aids are pleased to offer an instant ear wax removal service by irrigation. If you don’t want to wait, or your GP Surgery no longer offers this service they may refer patients to the hospital for ear wax removal.
Ear irrigation is a safe and gentle way to remove ear wax, an electronic ear irrigation machine is used rather than the old fashioned ear syringing. A controlled flow of warm water is directed into the ear canal to clean out the ear wax. Ear irrigation is a painless procedure and is performed by our audiologist who has 25 years in the industry. The procedure is available at our hearing aid centres in our Optical Partners or as a home visit. The ear wax will be removed on the first visit and the use of olive oil or ear drops prior to the appointment is not necessary. The ear wax removal will be performed by Adrian Dowling who is a fully qualified clinical ear care practitioner.
Appointments are charged at £20.00 for one ear or £40.00 for both ears
